Christmas is the biggest, longest and most important holiday the Swedes have. The Christmas holiday begins on December 13th, which is Lucia Day.
Lucia Day: The longest night of the year, when man and beast need extra nourishment. Someone is choosen from each home and is called the "Queen of Light." She wears a white gown and a crown of candles in her hair. She brings out all the food and drinks.
